Daily Science Report for 25 February 2009

LOCATION: Central Pacific Basin (in transit to Hawaii)

SCIENCE UPDATE: Readiness Assessment Committee members are evaluating the gathered analytical and descriptive data and are preparing chapters for expedition report and other reports. Shipboard curator completed storing all core material in the refrigerated hold deck and is working on documentation. Acceptance testing continued throughout the day.

Ship highlight of the day: X-Ray Lab

The purpose of the X-ray lab is to carry out powder diffraction analyses of minerals and rock powders.
