Ship highlight of the day: Core Description Lab

Scientists inspect each core visually and record properties such as color, texture, grain size, disturbance, and faulting. Monitors are used to examine core images at high magnification, view other data, and input the visual decscription notes into the database. The height of the core tables can be adjusted for comfort. The core description area was enlarged by 46%.
