Sea Trials Transit

Daily Science Report for 28 January 2009

LOCATION: In transit to Guam.

SCIENCE UPDATE: Our primary activities continue as hardware and software configuration and reconfiguration. Preacceptance preparation and acceptance testing of systems, including supporting documentation, as well as our preparation for readiness assessment and getting the vessel and laboratories in order for international operations, keeps all hands occupied.

Currently transiting to the west of Big Bonanza Shoals off the northwest coast of Borneo. Our projected course will take us through the Balabac Strait (south of the Philippines and north of Sabah Malaysia) into the Sulu Sea. From there we proceed into the Bohol Sea located north of Mindanao in the Philippines, through the Surigao Strait and into the Pacific Ocean.
